Howdy from a first time Glock owner

Hello Glock Talk! Just registered glad to be here! A few words about myself: I live in Illinois and looking to get my CCW permit very soon. For that purpose I just bought a Glock G19 FDE. It is arriving at my FFL today, so pretty excited :)
I have been a Ruger Mark III owner (and Ruger forum member) for a while now, and have heard only good things about Glock Talk, so looking forward to learning from the community and contributing.

I almost got my 43 yesterday

I live in a one horse town in Central NYS. My LGS is also a car repair and motorcycle repair. He also sells chainsaws. He wears a lot of hats. I preordered my 43 on 3/20 and gave my LGS $200 down. Shook hands blahdy blah. He said I'll call you when it comes in.
I've been there a couple of times buying ammo, BSing whatever. Didn't ask about it, Didn't want to bug the guy. I know it takes time.
I went in last Sat. looking to see if my 43 came in. Nope not yet.
So I go in yesterday and asked if my Glock was in. Which one he asks? My 43 that I preordered I say. Yep, its here. We go over to the counter and he hands me the gun. Ooh I says that's cute. I'll go get my coupon from the County Office building. Well he says theres a problem. I forgot you preordered it and I sold it to a guy and he gave me the down payment and I did the paperwork and I can't sell it to you now.
Maybe next week he says. :faint:

Baltimore police have arrest warrants issued for the police that arrested Freddy.
Freddy in Paddy Wagon was not buckled up.
Freddy broke his neck on a bolt in the Paddy Wagon.
Freddy asked twice for medical help.

From now on Baltimore police will take everyone arrested first to emergency care hospital - to ensure, that they, the police are protecting the person they arrested.

Hi everyone.

Just bought a G42 yesterday for a BUG or for when I can't carry a "real" pistol. I've owned a G19 and a G30sf but sold them as I generally prefer DA/SA on carry guns.

The 100rds I put through the 42 last night shot great and feel that the trade off in power vs 9mm is worth the control and ease of follow up shots, at least for me. YMMV.

Thanks for the ramble...hope to learn more about it (looking for a tuckable AIWB holster and NS.) and offer help when I can.

Buying Parents House Questions

my parents are mid to late 60s and on social security. Their mortgage has 18 years left and a bad 7.5%. They have maybe 20k in equity.

I am considering buying their house for the balance of the mortgage then let them live there for free / a dollar a month as long as they want. I might have them pay enough to cover the insurance and or taxes total about 225 a month.

I would probably do a 15 year at 3% and pay extra to end in 10-12.

My questions are as follows

Could I write any thing off as it would be a rental property I guess.
If I provide housing for a parent could i getany income tax deductions?

Any one have any other feedback or considerations?
