Remington Golden Saber, 45 ACP, 185gr

dimanche 15 mars 2015

I have a recently purchased Glock 30 and prior to yesterday's range visit I had 400 rds fired through the gun. I had an issue with the gun feeding properly, but that has been addressed and solved so I decided to see how well it would feed hollow points.

I picked up 2 boxes of the Remington GS 185gr. At the range I fired 50 rds of Federal Eagle with no problems. So then I went to the GS. I thought I had slightly tighter groups, but I had one misfire in each box of 25. I'd wait to see if the round cooked off and when it didn't, I pulled the slide back slightly to cock the gun but not eject the round. After doing that the round fired the 2nd time.

I didn't have any duds in the first 450 rounds of Winchester white box, Federal, Magtech and Sellier & Bellot. Since the rounds did fire the 2nd time I'm wondering if they really were bad primers, but since I no misfires in 350 rds and now 2 with this ammo I can't help but believe it is the ammo and not the gun.

Anyone else have this issue?
