When I was a little kid my grandfather would chew on a cigar. He never lit it, just chewed in it. He's sometimes give me one to chew on as well, at least until my mom found out. I thought it was the coolest thing ever strolling around the front yard with a cigar in my mouth. I couldn't have been older than 4 at the time, as I know I hadn't started school. He quit doing it before I got much older, and he died 5 years ago.
I hadn't thought about this in probably 20 years until it randomly popped into my head tonight. It just so happened that I had a cigar leftover from a wedding sitting upstairs, so I'm chewing on it now. I miss you, Granddaddy.
ETA: Dammit, typo in the title.
