opinion wanted on next glock purchase

So Ive thinking of getting a dedicated range / game gun. Right now I'm putting about 1k a month through a g20 with a 40 conversion barrel. It shoots real soft and I really like it, but I'm still at an disadvantage against the 9mm guys, in both recoil and capacity. First the Gun has to be a .40 and I has to be able to be converted to 9. Every gun I own shoots .40 so thats my main stock pile of ammo, even though I plan on starting to load and shoot 9mm. So it comes down to a new g35 and pick up maybe a ported 9mm and 40 barrel ( i shoot a lot of lead) or I can pick up a cheap cop trade in g22 for way less. Im not concerned with looks or a little wear. Im just wondering if the longer sight radius and the possibility to run ported barrels is worth the extra money. I shoot mostly local action pistol stuff where their not to crazy about the rules. Id be throwing on a mag well, extended controls and fiber sights on the gun.
