My first post here in this section. I am not a member of GSSF. I have never lived in an area that had matches close and thought that once I did get somewhere that had matches close, I would join. Now I'm in Houston and there's got to be matches close to me at some point.
Anyway, I had a thread about what 45ACP handgun would you buy if you only had $425.
I knew the 21 and 30 were going to be mentioned quite a bit, but I haven't seen many around here that go for that price or lower. So, I kinda didn't think much about Glocks at the $425 level. I have a 19 and like it a lot and when I found out I would be allowed to pack a pistol with me when bowhunting hogs in the National Forests, that accelerated the desire for me to get a new 45acp. I have a couple of Colt 1911's, but who turns down an excuse to possibly add a new handgun to the family?
Anyway, one member posted last night that if I were to join GSSF I would be able to buy a NEW 21 or 30 for something like $465 or so, give or take a little bit. I was shocked. I had never heard of that before. I knew there were a lot of certificates that people win and are lucky to get drawn and get one at the matches, but I had no idea they gave members that price deal. Is that the way it happens? Join up with the GSSF and you get great discounts on new Glocks?
Do they only give that 1 time to members or can you buy 1 per month if you wanted to at that price?
Then, how do you get them? Do you do it like the certificates and do it through Glock and they send the gun to the local FFL or are there designated dealers that do those transactions?
I'd like to know more about this deal for sure. I'd also like to know if there are matches coming around the Houston area at any time soon that I can go and try?
