So, I've been reloading for a couple of months on my Lee turret press. The Lee perfect powder measure that came with it, could be off by nearly 1gr between drops. I moved to an RCBS quick change, and it can still be nearly 1gr off...
I've been loading my rounds to within 1/100th of a grain using the gempro 250 scale, and have been able to get some pretty small spreads (shot a group of 5 today with a 13fps spread). Granted, it takes me for EVER to load just one round, since I either have to trickle powder either in or out each round, but, I'm just paranoid about it.
Here's my question... Are the powder measures on the progressive presses off as much as the Lee ppm and the RCBS quick change? I was so wanting to get a progressive press to start out, and now after my dealing with the 2 powder measures that are supposed to be "pretty accurate", my OCD wouldn't ever let me run a progressive if there was a chance that one round could be a grain off from the previous/next.
I thought I might just be a bit too OCD about this, but, considering some powders are so touchy at even 1/2 grain difference, loading something like Titegroup, being an entire grain off would make make it a completely different beast of a round, especially loading towards the max load range.
Am I being too picky?
