First Factory Shoot, loads of fun, lots of gun mfg swag

samedi 14 mars 2015

my local range had a factory shoot where manufacturers show off their wears , off the top of my head there was Walther, HK, Glock , Springfield armory, S&W, Kahr, Charter Arms, Vortex , Remington and if you are so inclined there are ranges where you can try their pistols and rifles

some observations I notices:

CCW guns are a big seller, we were the last state to get CCW and since it has only been a year it is still a relatively new concept for most people to get around. the Beretta booth didn't have a 92a1 to rent but did have a bunch of Nanos or Pico. on the range it was the Airweight, Shields, CCP etc that were always rented out. and took up the majority of the dealer questions like is this good for pocket carry? , what holster are available for it?

the real star of the shows were the Walther PPQ and the HK VP9. it was refreshing to see these two price their handguns aggressively, HK in particular had a special on their VP9 during the show that was competitive to the internet prices I found after FFL fees and you bought one during the show you would get showered with HK swag with a tactical HK pistol bag, keychains, hats, etc

I fell in love with the PPQ 5in, even with the deep discounts that HK was offering and all the HK swag. at the end of the day I shot the PPQ better than I did the VP9 but the HK swag was tempting..

(why this review isn't on General Glocking) the glock booth was the least busiest, they had the Glock Gen 4 17,19 , 42, and 26 but some comments in the range were "once you shot one glock you shot them all" it may just be how the shoot is geared, people are trying new handguns so the regulars are left at the counter. I guess being on a Glock site I expected more people to be at a Glock booth IRL

for all those in the Chicagoland area Gat Guns in Dundee, IL is running their factory shoot for another day and if your in the market or planning to buy a HK VP9. this would be the time to buy one with the discounts and the swag avalible
