I have less than an acre out back, but I ride instead of push it because summers in the deep South SUCK for heat and humidity. The builder of the spec house I bought only groomed the first 60 feet or so off the back of the house, and the rest while mostly flat to the eye, is a bumpy, beer-spilling ride on my little Deere. I've seen sand used to level out uneven lawns, where the grass will grow up through the sand and everything eventually looks great. Ever do this? Does the sand stay in place over time? Anything I need to pay attention to with such an effort? Other methods short of killing it all off, pulling a box across it and starting over?
