So, I'm down here in PNG for a week.
Last night, there was some sort of party/celebration in my hotel and the organizer had arranged for around 20 natives, in full native garb, to line the big stairway that leads up to the entrance of the hotel. I had to navigate this stairway, even though I was not involved with the celebration.
I ran into (literally) a Koteka. There were several. But this one, I ran right into while dodging another koteka on the opposite side of the stairs.
All I can say is...google it.
Better yet, 'google image' Koteka.
I can honestly say, when I bumped into this particular koteka that took up half the stairway, it was the most awkward moment of my life.
Fat German men wearing banana hammocks by the pool suddenly seemed much less awkward.
