Not for me, for my wife. I have never had to post something like this before, but could really use the help.
My wife has worked for the same company (retail) for just over 20 years and yesterday, she was demoted. We are very thankful that she did not get fired.
On Saturday, she made a decision to give an upset customer a discount after consulting with a more senior member of management. Upper management is not happy with the extra discount and the first manager is now stating she never told my wife to give the extra discount to the customer.
In the 20 years she has worked for them, her integrity and honesty has never been questioned. If she's made a mistake or bad decision, she has always gone to management and explained the situation and took responsibility. This time, they are saying that she is lying and gave her the option to tale a demotion and go to a different area (not in management) or be terminated.
She is very hurt and upset with the situation and feels that she can't trust anyone and that nobody cares anymore. She could really use some positive thoughts and encouragement.
