Did this start out like the 5.11 tactical kilt and grew bigger than a joke should? I am not sure I could admit to attending or participating in this with a straight face. Did this actually happen or is it another internet scam?

Our family has standardized on 9mm. We also know the manufacturer of strictly defensive ammo we are using...
What we don't know is for range FMJ / and possibly SHTF weird world stuff, what FMJ ammo to stock up on... LE guys at the range said we should stock at least 1000 rounds per firearm, but some also say 4000 rounds per firearm... OK so we know we will be stocking a bit of ammo... but we then have some questions... what manufacturer of FMJ and more interestingly, what GRAIN rounds to stock... there is 115, 124, and 147...

Question please: what advantage does one weight have over another? What disadvantage is one weight over another? Thanks in advance... really appreciate the people on this board....

Any other G43 +1s on the horizon?

I'd really like to get a +1 baseplate for one of my spare G43 mags. I love the size and shape of the Taran Tactical model but I'd really prefer something in polymer that matches the gun more (and doesn't cost more than another mag.)

Anyone know if other companies have something similar in the works? I really want something low profile, not some big goofy finger hook thing.

Any other G43 +1s on the horizon?

Robber With Taser- Shoot Him?

I'm retired now, so don't need to arrest anyone; just protect myself and the wife. Here's the story:

Over the weekend there were two robberies in Central park, NYC. One of them involved the threatened use of a Taser, I was not involved but...

Obviously, if I get Tazed the creep can do anything he wants to me and/or wife, including taking my own gun and shooting us with it. Or just stomping us into the dirt. I would feel morally justified in shooting him before he can launch the lightning, and would be in fear of death or great bodily harm. But even shooting a knife-armed robber can get legally messy, and as a civilian shooting a robber whose actual weapon is not deadly, it could get even messier.

Is anyone aware of statue or case law on this when the intended victim is a civilian?
Obviously, it will vary from state to state, but anything you have might be helpful.

But to the point of the thread...

Has anyone lengthened the chamber of the P64 so it could use 9x19 Parabellum ammunition instead of the 9x18 Makarov ammo? If so, what were the results? Could the slightly (silly millimeter) longer ammo be fed from the standard magazine? Did the gun blow up? Did recoil kill your hand?
