Picked up the new Vaquero in 45 Colt today and first impression was good. The blueing was good enough though not the high luster of an old Smith or Colt. The stocks are nice rose wood but fit is a little less than perfect. OK, it's a six hundred dollar gun, not twelve.

So, how does it shoot you ask? Not to bad with Fiocchi 255g LRNFP ammo. I assume it is light cowboy stuff with SASS on the box, recoil was light. The first few groups were low as expected but more important windage was dead nuts on. The trigger felt heavy for a single action. The more I shot the more the groups came up to point of aim. I just had to pay attention to the trigger break. At the end of a hundred rounds fired, 3" six shot groups were pretty easy.

Got home and cleaned it up for some better pics and to meassure that heavy trigger.

All in all, I'm very happy with this new aquission. The fun factor was through the roof even with a 3.5 lb. trigger. Now to get a load worked up. :wavey:
