Single stack 9mm Glock vs. Ruger LC9s Pro

vendredi 20 février 2015

The Ruger LC9s and the Pro version of that pistol are selling thousands of these units everywhere and at prices of $325-395. These Rugers have changed over to striker fired from the first release which was a hammer fired setup and the Pro eliminates the safety on the slide and eliminates the magazine disconnect that was also on the first release of the LC9 and makes it just about a Glock clone. Gone also from the first release is the hideous loaded chamber indicator which was on the SR series and replaced it with a window peak into the chamber. It is similar in size and about 3-4 oz heavier than the G42 but in a 9mm format.

If and whenever Glock decides to produce a single stack 9mm, will much of the market for that configuration be filled with the Ruger and at about $200-225 less?

Have some Glock diehards given up on a single stack Glock in a 9 and have bought or will buy a LCP9s Pro?

I am headed to the LGS this week for mine.
