Yesterday my son asked if I had heard of any ammo ban. I had not. He told me he got something on a twitter feed from Cabella's. I looked today and sure enough it is in the works. The shelves at WM were bare. A few days ago they were stockpiled with a bunch.
Public comment is open till 3-16 to the BATFE. As of righ now they want to ban M-855 which as anybody who shots AR's enough will run across some. Not bad stuff identified by the green tip.
Earlier this week I had seen or read something by Frank Proctor who talked about how the green tip stuff was not truly AP. He was speaking about personal experience on steel he had been shooting for years. He said the only stuff that had went through his plates was some M-193 and his personal opinion after a chrono test was the M-193 was hitting 3K plus FPS and the M-855 was steady at around 28-2900 FPS.
I am gonna write anyone and everyone I can think of to try and stop this. They could not ban the black rifle so now they are after the ammo.
If anybody else has information please share. This is crazy.
