I'll be in San Diego for a business thing soon, and will have ample free time to roam around. I used to live there, and I know the usual sightseeing spots (La Jolla, Point Loma Shelter/Harbor Islands, downtown, Coronado et al).
For this trip I decided to rent a Canon 300mm f/4 prime lens for my 70D camera body to shoot boats on the bay and wildlife (probably a lot of birds in flight) along the Point Loma and La Jolla cliffs. I have the obligatory UV Haze filter I can screw on the nose, but I think I'm going to need either a polarizing or some gradient of ND filter, and I'm not well versed in them. Forecast is sunny to partly cloudy. On-the-water bay shots will include sunrise/sunset as well as mid-day. What do you think?
