Why is the 357 Sig Languishing?

jeudi 16 avril 2015

I know that there may be a similar thread, but I did some testing on the top end and it seems like the 357 Sig should be in demand.

Testing Underwood 357 sig with 125gr Sierra bullets with a G32 that has a 4.6" KKM barrel and averaged 1,560fps.

Testing Underwood 9mm +p+ 124gr GD with a G19 that has a 4.6" KKM barrel and averaged 1,311fps.

We are talking potential here, which puts the 357 Sig 250fps higher than the highest 9mm.

Tested the 125gr Remington SJHP's 357 Mag. we carried in the 70's and 80's in a 6" S&W 686 and averaged 1,579fps. Basically, the same as the Underwood 357 Sig. However, we only carried 4" barrels and the velocity would have been lower. I know memories are fond and can be cloudy. I never shot anyone, or seen someone shot, but the reports were clear as to its effectiveness. Almost always, with a body shot, the person at least stumbled. Additionally, I believe in M&S's numbers with regard to this round. http://ift.tt/1IgmsJJ

Why major ammo companies download the round I do not understand. Also, when standing at a gun counter and a new shooter interested in buying a Glock asked about calibers, the gun expert (sic) behind the counter did not even mention the 357 Sig. Outside of this forum, nobody really knows about it. I wonder if the 357 Sig had come out 5 year before the 40 S&W would things be different, or would there even be a 40 S&W.
