Best handgun for bad ammo?

The only .22 handgun I own is a S&W 41 which is a great gun except that it is really picky about ammo. About the least expensive ammo it is happy with is standard velocity CCI.

I have been thinking about buying a double action revolver to supplement my current gun. While there are a lot of semi auto .22s that are much better than my 41 with cheap ammo all of them require working the slide after a misfire. And with cheap ammo there will always be misfires with any gun. Some of my current supply is 30 years old which does not help.

While it would primarily be for me it would be a plus if it was small and light enough that a petite woman would be comfortable with it too. I want double action mostly because they are quicker to load and unload so I could live with a stiff DA trigger but want a decent SA trigger. A 4 or 5 inch barrel would be ideal. This would be a range gun and nothing else.

Right now I am leaning towards Ruger SP101. I have always been partial to S&W revolvers but their 617 is large for a .22 and their J frame 22s have short barrels and V rear sights which I do not care for. My only real concern about the Ruger is the SA trigger pull is usually not as nice as on a S&W. I had a Taurus 94 20 years ago and it had to go back to the factory three times before I got fed up and sold it so I will not consider anything from Taurus. Any other guns I should be looking at?
