I've been going about picking a bolt gun totally wrong. My plans were to build an AR carbine in 300 Blackout but my wife wants me to wait until after the move and I have a job to shell out what will be probably $1000+ on the gun, mags, ext. I am able to get a bolt action though since that would only be around $400 or so not counting a scope and stuff but still, much cheaper so I've been looking at a few, mostly in .243, 7mm08, ect.
Well, why not do the Logical thing and get a Ruger American Ranch Rifle in 300 Blackout so that I can get ammo and dies and stuff for the 300 and be loading and stocking up on ammo for that caliber instead of spending money on another caliber. I mean it just makes sense, and I'll still have a decent 300 yard deer rifle if I do end up hunting deer and I can play around with the 300 and develop some loads and stuff while I'm waiting to get the AR carbine.
I think this just plain works so I'm going to see what my dealer can get one in for tomorrow. Anyway, that's my new plan. Talk at ya'll later.

Bolt Gun rethink. A logical choice.
